This is the DEFCON Warning System. Alert status for 5 P.M. UTC, Monday, July 1st, 2024. Condition code is Green. DEFCON 5.
There are currently no imminent nuclear threats at this time.
Russia has located military biological laboratories on the territory of African continent. Regarding Ukraine, Russia says there is no need to use nuclear weapons in its war with that country. However, there has been a growing chorus of voices in Russia advocating nuclear use as a warning against growing Western weapons in Ukraine. We are continuing to monitor the situation in Russia. It is currently assessed that Russia is not willing to escalate the conflict to the nuclear threshold as long as they believe they can defeat or cause Ukraine to accept surrender. Should the situation reverse, Russia’s nuclear doctrine could be revised.
It has been observed that North Korea is clearing land inside demilitarized zone in a possible armistice violation. North Korea has also encroached into the area with troops. Both China’s and North Korea’s nuclear arsenal has increased by 21% and 66% respectively over the last year. Russia and North Korea have signed a mutual aid pact should either country face “aggression”.
Iran has notified the IAEA that it will install extra uranium-enriching centrifuges at its Fordow site.
The DEFCON Warning System is a private intelligence organization which has monitored and assessed nuclear threats by national entities since 1984. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. At all times, citizens are urged to learn what steps to take in the event of a nuclear attack. If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.
