This is the DEFCON Warning System. Alert status for 1:30 A.M. U T C, Saturday May 10th, 2025. Condition code is Yellow. DEFCON 3.
There are currently no imminent nuclear threats at this time, however the situation is considered fluid and can change rapidly.
Hostilities between India and Pakistan continue to increase, with each side escalating the conflict each day. At this time, there are no known off-ramps. There are clashes between troops at the Line of Control, missile and drone attacks, and reports of air activity. Pakistan has said that its next attack, if deemed necessary, would include high-value targets.
While the risk of nuclear conflict continues to be low, the situation can change and the public is now advised to begin to take precautions in the event the situation deteriorates. It is felt that a warning at this time would give the public as much time as possible to prepare should the situation become dire rather than wait until the last minute.
This does not mean a nuclear attack is imminent or inevitable. This is purely a precautionary alert.
Citizens of India and Pakistan are advised to learn where shelters are, stock up on provisions in the event of interruption or unavailability, and plan for evacuation from possible targeted areas.
Those in outlying areas such as China, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan are also advised to take precautions in the event of fallout.
The DEFCON Warning System is a private intelligence organization which has monitored and assessed nuclear threats by national entities since 1984. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. At all times, citizens are urged to learn what steps to take in the event of a nuclear attack. If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.
