DEFCON Warning System – Update 11/1/19

This is the DEFCON Warning System. Alert status for 2 P.M., Tuesday, November 1st, 2019. Condition code is Green. DEFCON 5.

There are currently no imminent nuclear threats at this time.

The United States continues to be in a very weak position internationally as the government continues to be impossibly divided and wrapped in impeachment proceedings, negating any negotiating power the U.S. President may have as other countries see a weakened leader who is in no position to make deals or back up any threats. Most countries are waiting for the 2020 election to see who will be or continue to be the leader. In the meantime, enemy states see an opportunity to advance their nuclear programmes including North Korea and Iran.

For Iran, it says it will continue pulling back from commitments made under the nuclear agreement until it achieves the “desired result.” The International Atomic Energy Agency reports that Iran has increased cooperation with the U.N. agency. However, Iran claims that it can enrich uranium to weapons-grade level, though it continues to say it does not pursue nuclear weapons. Iran has also stated that it plans to take the fourth nuclear step if remaining parties fail to honor obligations by scheduled deadline.

North Korea continues its weapons development, this time announcing successful launch of sub-based ballistic missile as well as multiple-rocket launchers.

Russia sends strategic bombers to South Africa as it extends its influence and Russia is to help China build its missile defense system.

Finally, the United States is looking into plans to remove nuclear weapons from Turkey.

The DEFCON Warning System is a private intelligence organization which has monitored and assessed nuclear threats by national entities since 1984. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.
