This is the DEFCON Warning System. Alert status for 9 P.M. UTC, Sunday, December 1st, 2024. Condition code is Green. DEFCON 5.
There are currently no imminent nuclear threats at this time.
Russia has officially changed its nuclear doctrine to include that a large conventional attack by a non-nuclear State but backed by a nuclear one could be met with a nuclear response on both States. This is in response to Western support of Ukraine in Russia’s war against the country. The United States has said that it will not adjust its own nuclear doctrine in response to Russia’s change.
For the first time, Ukraine has suggested that it will cede land to Russia to stop the war, however that is conditional that NATO agree to protect Ukraine, which is an unlikely agreement.
U.S. military contractors are to deploy to Ukraine. These contractors are said to repair and maintain U.S. provided equipment and do not take part in fighting. Ukraine appears to investigate the timeline it would need to develop nuclear weapons, though it has emphasized it was bound by the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. United States has allowed Ukraine to strike Russia with long-range missiles. In response, Russia says it has the right to strike countries that supply weapons to Ukraine.
Russia has signed a mutual defence agreement with North Korea. The United States has opened a new missile base in Poland, near Russia’s border and seeks to redeploy submarine-based nuclear cruise missiles. India has conducted its first test of a hypersonic missile.
The incoming U.S. administration plans to destabilize Iran’s economy to force it to abandon its nuclear weapons programme. Iran, meanwhile, says it will stop producing near bomb-grade uranium, however the United Nations atomic energy agency says that Iran has sharply increased its stockpile of nearly weapons-grade uranium. Iran has also installed more advanced centrifuges. Israel claims to have destroyed an Iranian nuclear weapons research facility.
The DEFCON Warning System is a private intelligence organization which has monitored and assessed nuclear threats by national entities since 1984. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. At all times, citizens are urged to learn what steps to take in the event of a nuclear attack. If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.
